This is how god would make music

math music

… with math and the terminal. Sadly the audience “god” isn’t a very big one and so the common comments for this app sound more like:

Interesting application, but I have no idea how to get music out of it.

The app I’m talking about is athenaCL. It’s a bit like the complete opposite of Garageband. I’m sure some hackers will love this app, but when was the last time you did see (or hear) a hacker make great music? I would say those hackers are nearly as hard to find as gods, but if you think you actually have the skills and talent, than give this one a try, you could actually learn something from it and I’m sure the creators of this app would love to have a great demo-song (if you know what I mean).

  1. Christopher Ariza Says:

Thanks for your comments about athenaCL. It is indeed the opposite of Garageband in that it prohibits users from making canned and predictable music. However, a user could use athenaCL to generate MIDI or digital audio for use in Garageband. The command-line interface may be more suitable to some hackers, but the system was designed by a composer for composers of computer music. The demos that you link to are elementary, clincal demos, designed to demonstrate basic features; plenty of other music made with athenaCL is available via www.flexatone.net. Other music may use athenaCL, but you would never know, as it sounds like music, not like software.

To gain maximum knowledge of the network world, go for some online courses like N10-003 and SY0-101. You will easily be able to play with the wireless cable concept. It will not be hard to install a computer software without any instructions. Not only this, you will also be able to work on a remote pc software. Sounds too good? Bet it is!
