You’re normally one of those people that hacks HTML pages in a simple text editor and not in a WYSIWYG suite? Than this application could be exactly what you’ve waited for. HyperEdit is a text editor with a live preview. The application window is split into two. On the left side you write your code and on the right side you immediately (or after a button click) see how it’s rendered in a browser (Safari), anyway if you write HTML, CSS, JavaScript or even PHP. Yes, even PHP can be executed live as you type. That’s possible because OS X 10.3 and later comes with the command-line version of PHP right out-of-the-box.
But wait, that’s not everything. If you wish, you can W3C validate your HTML live as you type as well, you can store often used code snippets, you can use regular expressions to search and replace inside the document, a feature I absolutely love, add colors from a palette and much more. Just one thing, this app isn’t meant for people with small screens. While you can easily make one area larger and the other smaller, working with this app becomes so much easier with a big (widescreen if possible) screen.
