How to show your last songs on a blog

I’m sure you’ve already noticed the “Recently Played Songs” list on the right side of this blog (in case you not only read the RSS feed). Here’s how you can achieve the same if you run a WordPress based blog. You need three things:

1. Download and install the Audioscrobbler Plugin. This iTunes plugin and menubar application will send your last played songs to the Last.fm server.

2. Audioscrobbler can only save your songs on Last.fm if you have an account, so go to Last.fm and create your profile. After you did that, add your Last.fm username and password to the Audioscrobbler menubar.

3. To display the last songs on your WordPress blog you have to download and install the WP-Scrobbler plugin.

That’s it! If you run into any problems, please let me know and I will see if I can help you out. Last.fm has a lot more to offer, so have a look at their Screenshot Tour to learn more … even if you don’t have a blog.

This may sound like i’m tooting my own horn; but I actually wrote a more generic “RSS” plugin for wordpress that I use to display my recent songs.

The nice thing about it is I can get my del.icio.us feed with the same plugin, my 43 things, my audiscrobbler feeds, etc.. Anything RSS (no atom support as of yet).

    Anway, it is at http://rawlinson.us/blog/?p=212

I’m actualy using your plugin. I just thought it would be easier to do this with the WP-Scrobbler plugin for the not so experienced users.

To gain maximum knowledge of the network world, go for some online courses like N10-003 and SY0-101. You will easily be able to play with the wireless cable concept. It will not be hard to install a computer software without any instructions. Not only this, you will also be able to work on a remote pc software. Sounds too good? Bet it is!
