Creating a podcast isn’t exactly the hardest thing to do, but there’s a way so easy, even your grandmother could create one! It’s a free web service by the name podOmatic. They let you record your podcast with an online recording tool, so all you need is a microphone and an idea about the podcasts content. They directly support iTunes, Google, Yahoo and more, so you don’t have to worry about getting the podcast out, just follow their instruction and everything will be done for you.
Of course anyone that already knows how to podcast will most likely not find much new or interesting in this service, but this isn’t exactly meant for them, this is meant for the general “I can move a mouse and click a button” audience, and for that audience I’m sure this service does the job quit well.
I wonder if Apple is working on something like this for their .mac service, maybe in combination with a desktop application, I’m sure people would like that and it would definitely get some new life into the .mac service.
