How old is your last backup? Is it bootable? How easy was it to create the backup? If your answers to these questions are something like “Can’t remember the exact date”, “Nah, just my home directory” and “Guess why I didn’t backup for so long”, than you really should have a look at this application!
SuperDuper makes bootable backups, similar to Carbon Copy Cloner, but as easy and hassle free as possible. Not like Carbon Copy Cloner where your disk has to be in an almost perfect state for the app to even get the backup done, SuperDuper takes care of all the wrong file permissions and other incompatibilities first before it starts with the backup. This way a working and bootable backup is almost guaranteed.
Macworld has reviewed the app and gave it a 4.5. The only feature they’ve missed was scheduling, a feature that is planned for the next version of the app. Basic bootable backups can be made with the free version, the advanced features can be activated for $19.95, a fair price for an app that really can save your life.
