Yesterday at the “one more thing” show, Apple revealed a bunch of new products, one of them was iTunes 6 with added support for video. However, if you have a lot of the popular .avi movies (DivX) on your disk, iTunes 6 will not let you manage them as the video support is limited to QuickTime .mov files only! Apple tells you to use QuickTime 7 Pro to export your movies into a compatible format. However, that’s not the easiest (or cheapest if you not already own QuickTime Pro) way to do it.
There’s a small app with the name DivX Doctor II that lets you easily convert your .avi movies into an iTunes 6 compatible format, just drag the files onto the app and click start. The app is pretty fast, most files will just take a few seconds to convert, so it wont be too long before you can manage your movies in iTunes.
