Apple is doing pretty good right now as the Amazon post below shows, but that wasn’t always the case. This is an interesting CNET article dated October 2, 1997. In the article Jobs outlines 12 reasons why Apple will survive as a company. Now of course we know that it worked out, but in 1997 that wasn’t clear at all. It was a time were Apple had to stop the clone business (I actually had one of them), where some of the key markets struggled and a time were the transition to a new OS architecture, codenamed Rhapsody (now OS X), was being planned. Definitely have a read, especially if you weren’t a Mac user back then.
