PC Magazine has taken their time to review five social bookmarking sites. Here are the results:
- clipmarks: 4/5 –> Clipmarks is an easy and effective way to store pieces of Web pages for sharing, reference, and review.
- del.icio.us: 1.5/5 –> del.icio.us competently tags and stores your bookmarks online, but it’s too limited and too hard to use.
- jeteye: 2.5/5 –> Jeteye promises to be an innovative way to store and share Web content, but the bugs in this public beta can be maddening.
- Shadows: 3.5/5 –> If you’re in the market for a bookmark organizer, Shadows is better than del.icio.us but not quite ready to claim the social-bookmarking crown.
- Yahoo! My Web 2.0: 4/5 –> My Web 2.0 currently offers the best social-bookmark experience.

I just tried out the yahoo web one and it honestly doesn’t seem any easier to use than del.icio.us - though the output at yahoo is cleaner.
i also don’t see some of the features del.icio.us has - such as the ability to “bundle” tags (though i honestly don’t see alot of the value of tag bundles).
What I want is the quick ability to delete some old bookmarks in there that I dont care about anymore en masse. It is tedious to have to delete each individually and in neither del.icio.us or yahoo do i see that functionality.
I think yahoo will have to offer a more compelling feature set than they do now in order to get current del.icio.us users to stop using del.icio.us

I don’t really agree with their del.icio.us rating either.
I brainstormed some ideas (over ten actually) for blinklist, so maybe have a look at their service in a few weeks/months when they implemented some of them. Here’s an excerpt from our discussion:
“I just wanted to say there is some excellent stuff in there! I am going to have to digest it, think about it, ponder it and see what we can do. Will most certainly get back to you on this. We are thinking very much alike but you have a very unique and fresh angle so it is most useful. I am quite excited about some of the ideas you are coming up with!”
An other service currently got my attention: http://ma.gnolia.com/
I don’t really know much about it, but somehow they got my interest. Hope they soon open the service.
