Analysts from Gartner and Forrester Research came up with some very interesting speculations of what that newly discovered Google project everyone seams to be speculating about could be. For those of you that didn’t follow this story on the net, there was a screenshot of a new Google service making the rounds and later Google made an official announcement because of it:
We are testing new ways for content owners to easily send their content to Google. Like our web crawl and the recently released Google Sitemaps program, we are working to provide content owners with an easy way to give us access to their content. We’re continually exploring new opportunities to expand our offerings, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time.
If Gartner and Forrester is right, then this content will be, similar to the Google Maps, available to every web developer out there through an API and if that’s true, I’m sure a lot of cool third party web applications will be made by some of the best independent web developers out there.
