Even the best developers make buggy code from time to time and so it isn’t surprising that some of their replies became really popular even under non-devs. Here are some of the best:
- I thought I fixed that.
- Why do you want to do it that way?
- Where were you when the program blew up?
- Did you check for a virus? (ok, this one doesn’t count for Mac devs)
- Somebody must have changed my code.
- It works, but it hasn’t been tested.
- You must have the wrong version.
- It worked yesterday.
- It’s never done that before.
- It works on my machine.
- My code, my code! What have you done to my beautiful code?!
- That’s not a bug, it’s a feature!
- That’s impossible.
- You’re testing it wrong!
- What? How? Impossible! Prove it!

“It works on my machine.”
My reply: “Well then, its simple, we’ll just divert the entire internet to your machine to save us from finding out why it only works on your machine”
